What began in 1997, inspired by a CARSTAR franchise owner whose granddaughter was diagnosed with CF, has grown into a partnership raising over $6 million to advance cystic fibrosis research, care and advocacy.

The Reality of Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic disease affecting over 5,000 Canadians. It causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the body, leading to chronic lung infections, reduced lung function, and serious complications over time. Many people living with CF require daily, lifelong treatments and ongoing care to manage symptoms and slow disease progression.
While advances in research and treatment have changed what’s possible for many, CF remains a life-limiting disease. Not everyone benefits from current therapies and too many Canadians are still waiting for better options, equitable access to care and longer, healthier lives.
CARSTAR’s partnership helps turn progress into real change for people living with cystic fibrosis, today and for generations to come.
